The LCG3 Smart Strip power strip helps you control power consumption by shutting down home theater devices completely when it senses that your television has been turned off. You plug your TV into the 'control' device blue outlet and plug most of your other components into the white outlets. (Note: there are red plugs for devices that you WANT to say on -- for example a DVR that is set to record a program while you're sleeping.) When you turn on the TV, whatever is plugged into the white outlets turns on - when what's in the blue outlet turns off, all power is cut to the white outlets. There are three red 'hot' outlets that always supply electricity to devices plugged into them, whether the 'control' device is on or off.
